OUR HISTORY
Bater & Stout Opticians was originally founded by Lindsay and Louise Bater as Bater Opticians in 1986 before becoming Bater and Stout Opticians when Tony Stout became owner in 2013. The practice has now entered its third iteration under the guidance of Charles and Sian Richards in 2023.
Our team consists of industry veterans and new staff alike who all bring personal flair and personality to their interactions with our patients and who genuinely enjoy getting to know you. We greet a huge number of our patients by name, on sight, wherever we can because we believe strongly in making you feel welcome every time you visit.
Originally set up as a local, family run firm of Opticians providing eye care in the community, the practice’s patient base and reputation has grown dramatically over the last 38 years. Over time the people have changed but the core tenet of providing the very highest quality care remains, whether you come as a private patient or an NHS patient. We provide high quality products for our patients and our frame and lens ranges have been carefully curated to provide this.
